About the Tour

First Waterfall: Snoqualmie Falls

We begin our tour at Snoqualmie Falls, a breathtaking double waterfall more than 100 feet taller than Niagara Falls. Featured on Twin Peaks in the 1990s, this site sees more than 1.5 million visitors each year.

The Snoqualmie Falls site is fully wheelchair accessible, and the viewing platform is 250 feet from the parking area.

Second Waterfall: Franklin Falls

Next, we head to the Franklin Falls trailhead and a gentle one-mile hike to the falls. We'll hike through a beautiful green canopy of coniferous trees until we get to the picturesque view of the 135-foot falls. The trail meanders along the river, with the calming sounds of trickling creeks and rushing water.

Want to bring your family along? This is a perfect hike for young children - not too long with several opportunities along the trail to get our feet wet in the river. At the falls, there is a small wading pool and shallow stream, perfect for playing in the water while we set up for the waterfall shoot.

You'll definitely want a tripod to allow for slow shutter speed shots that capture the beautiful smoky effect of the falls. Add a Neural Density Filter, which blocks light to allow us to slow down the water to get the perfect silky effect.

The round-trip hike takes about 2 hours. After the return hike, we'll head back to Seattle and review our shots, where your guide will be happy to walk through some Lightroom editing tips to help you get the most out of your photos.

When you book, please indicate if you would like to rent any equipment. Your guide will pickup and drop off your chosen equipment for the trip.

All rental equipment is provided by Glazer's Camera Rentals in Seattle. Explore their rental prices to customize your gear for the ultimate waterfall photography experience.
